The Haitian musical band, ZENGLEN announces today the release of its new single titled, KOMAN NOU YE and the addition of lead guitarist, Wilson Pierre.”
Since the World Health Organization declared that the spread of COVID-19 has become a pandemic, the world has been at a standstill. The daily statistics tell the devastating stories of lives loss due to the widespread of COVID-19. As the weeks progress, many industries have shut down causing millions of people to lose their jobs. Now as parts of the country, slowly starts to reopen, the uncertainty of when things will ever get back on track hangs over ours heads leaving some of us feeling hopeless.
It is with this in mind, ZENGLEN decided to release the song titled, KOMAN NOU YE (How y’all doing) to offer its fans some words of encouragement and to ease their worries during these difficult times. KOMAN NOU YE reminds us that we’re all in this together and that a little kindness goes a long way. Noel Richard composed the track with lyrics by Jean Brutus Derissaint, and features vocals by Emmy Nixon Louis (EmmyNix). The single is now available on all of our social media pages and on all streaming platforms by this Friday.
ZENGLEN would also like to take this opportunity to officially welcome, Wilson Pierre as our new lead guitarist. A veteran in the Haitian Music Industry (HMI), Wilson Pierre has played with some of the HMI’s heavy hitters: from Fasil, Disip de Gazman Couleur, and most recently, Nulook. Prior to joining ZENGLEN, Pierre took a two-year performance hiatus to focus on his dream of attending one of the most prestigious music schools in the United States, Berklee College of Music. He currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor’s in Music Performance and Composition. A versatile musician, Pierre is well-versed in classical music, jazz, blues, gospel, and konpa.

In addition, Pierre will start practicing with the band once the “shelter in place” restrictions are lifted and make his official performance debut at our next event.
