Brooklyn, New York– June 01, 2004 – Brooklyn come enjoy a taste of Haiti’s rich and vibrant culture as The Haitian Times kicks off Kreyolfest, a festival honoring the country’s Bicentennial. The event features super groups Djakout Mizik and T-Vice will be held on Sunday June 27, 2004 at Wingate Park in Brooklyn.
Kreyolfest TM, which is celebrating its 4th year, is fast becoming one of the top outdoor festivals in New York City and a place for family and friends to gather under a warm ambiance. The festival also features Miami-based Nu Look, New York’s own Zin and CARIMI. Special guests include Diblo Dibala, the legendary Congolese Soukous guitarist and his full band with the world famous female dancers and a major artist to be announced later. In addition, 509, Miami’s hottest up and coming band and Haiti’s carnival king Koudjay will add much spice to an already hot line up.
In addition to the musical festivities, festival goers will have access to an all day health fair where they can check blood pressure, heart rate and dental check up for their children.
Doors open exactly at Noon. The first 2,000 people will receive a free gift. In addition to the music and food, KreyolFest TM will have a kiddie carnival from Noon until 2 PM.
